The following features and enhancements were released by Solid Cactus eCommerce on July 21, 2010. If you are a Solid Cactus eCommerce merchant, more information on these changes can also be found in your recently updated user guide.
StoreBuilder Images Overhaul/Improvements
* This release item is to give the merchant the ability to use multiple images for their products – and SO much more.
- Display multiple images for products with a built-in image carousel
- Upload images easily in bulk and sync to products automatically
- Unlimited images per product
- Individual image merge codes can be inserted into product templates to allow custom built image displays
- Main image, carousel top, right, bottom or left merge codes
- Import image details which allows you to change ALT text for each image in bulk (SEO goodness)
- Import allows you to acquire an image from an external image URL (.jpg, .gif, .png) and link to your product automatically – brings into the media library automatically! Great migration tool!
- Control the default display size for images on store (thumbnail and standard) – upload size is used as your click to enlarge view
- Click to Enlarge any of the thumbnail views in the carousel
- Click to Enlarge has been upgraded to a widely used component which fades the store background and prominently highlights the photo
- Rank or order images for display in carousel
- Carousel works on Featured and Related Products
- Better default image control than Yahoo, Volusion or ProStores
- When combined with multiple Product Templates, custom design should be highly flexible and capable of accommodating the most robust image wants
