The following features and enhancements were released by Solid Cactus eCommerce on March 16, 2011. If you are a Solid Cactus eCommerce merchant, more information on these changes can also be found in your recently updated user guide.
User Access Login Updates
This update makes managing User Access logins easier, these might be used with a virtual assistant, call center or external staff member who you want to give limited access to the administrative back end.
- When a new user is created, a contact record is created in your database, which can be easily found in the contact search menu.
- Add further information like company name, phone, address, city, zip, etc. later.
- Previously you would need to submit a password for these users, now click have to a notification with an invitation sent, prompting them to lead to create a personal password, adding security to the process for users.
- Users have a separate login page from the merchant, which can be easily accessed from a link that you can resend populated with merchant information so all the user needs is their email and password to log in!
- Drop a merge code in page templates, found under merge data, to provide a link to user login page.
- Drop code into your template or drop a link into the store navigation.
- Welcome users with an autoresponder series or send a broadcast email at any point with the login link, personalized with merge codes.
- Provides better control over user to merchant communications.
Phase II Doba – Usability Updates
The purpose of this release is to improve the usability and functionality of the existing Doba integration.
Merchant now has:
- Automatic creation of SEO friendly URLs upon import.
- Control active/inactive status on import.
- Ability to assign products to existing categories upon import.
- Flexibility to schedule a job to import more than 100 products at a time.
- Comparison tools over what’s on Doba vs. what’s been imported.
- Last import dates on both the import process and each individual product.
Gateways – Implement InternetSecure
- The purpose of this release item is to introduce InternetSecure into our Gateway component.
Select Methods for Real-Time Shipping in the Default Carrier Account
This release item is to provide merchants the ability of selecting the shipping methods they will offer to their customer, when using our real-time shipping default carrier accounts.
- Currently shows all methods available from the real-time carrier when Real-Time shipping is called.
- Allows merchant to select only methods they want to offer to their customers.
Recurring Rewrite – Create Recurring Inventory Tracking
This release item is to all merchants to set recurring inventory tracking for product details.
- Flag to either track inventory on each recurrence or not. Depending on product, inventory may not be required to be tracked (if recurring is used as a payment method, rather than a physical product).
New Current Inventory Report
This project release item is to give our merchants the ability to generate a report of products current inventory.
- Inventory report showing product ID, product name, current inventory, low inventory level, current digital licenses available and low digital licenses level.
- Accessible from Orders >> Reports >> Sales Reports.
- Not only reports product inventory, but digital license levels as well.
- Merchant had no insight into all of these items without reviewing each product separately.
- With this change comes the removal of the inventory column from “Product Sales by Date” and “Product Sales by Item” which were showing current inventory, but not for the time frame selected for the report.
- Report is exportable to CSV file.
Domain Masking
- Open up the domain masking functionality to all store packages, allowing merchants to configure their stores to show a different URL than their default MCSSL address in the browser status bar.
Misc Tasks
- Re-introduce the ability to enter multiple order notice emails.
- Addressed country tax exclusions, country tax in the recurring exports, and multiple taxes applied for one location.
- Improvements made to autoresponders, update confirmation link, sitemap, and modified at date within the generated sitemap xml files.
- Resolves shipping tracking email, customer’s information exports, and custom field 10.
- Improves the shipping line item, 3D Secure bank information, and client update information.
